PERU LNG’s marine terminal was recognized with the OAS Maritime Award of the Americas in the category of Environmentally Sustainable Waste Management in Ports, a distinction granted by the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS).
The maritime terminal, built and operated by PERU LNG for liquefied natural gas shipping, was designed according to the industry’s highest standards of prevention, minimization and mitigation of potential environmental impacts.
The Maritime Award of the Americas recognizes successful practices in the maritime and port sectors of the hemisphere, proving sustainability, efficiency and innovation.
It should be pointed out that OEA’s CIP Secretariat promotes a safe, competitive and sustainable port system to guarantee its efficient operation while contributing to reducing adverse impacts on the environment and societies.
