Closing of the training program "Artisanal fishing methods".

Within the framework of the institutional cooperation protocol between PERU LNG and Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Pesquero - FONDEPES, the third edition of the "Artisanal Fishing Methods" training program was held. The objective of this program is to train fishermen and optimize their skills. The course seeks to disseminate and implement new fishing methods, contributing to the formalization and accreditation of fishermen.

On this occasion, members of the Asociación de Extractores Mejilloneros y Pescadores de Nuevo Ayacucho - Afines, participated in the courses "Armado y operatividad de espineles" and "Marinero de Pesca Artesanal" which lasted 12 days and was held in the city of Paita.

"PERU LNG always carries out activities aimed at contributing to the development of its neighbors and we believe that the formalization of artisanal fishermen will bring many benefits to this important activity in the area," said Julio Rojas, Community Relations and Social Investment Manager.

At the end of the course, the participants expressed their satisfaction with the training received. The president of the association, Mr. Sepriano Palomino Quispe, expressed his gratitude to PERU LNG and FONDEPES for the opportunity provided and highlighted the importance and relevance of the course.

Due to the great reception by the fishermen, a fourth edition of the Training Program is scheduled for 2014, the objective is that all associations can participate in order to formalize and strengthen their capacities.
