For the second consecutive year, a student of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería will complement his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma (United States), thanks to the PERU LNG Scholarship. On this occasion, Alexander Rodríguez Castillo, a student of the School of Mechanical Engineering, was chosen after passing a demanding knowledge test and several academic interviews.
The PERU LNG Scholarship will give Alexander Rodriguez the opportunity to acquire new knowledge for one year at one of the most renowned universities in the oil and gas industry. In addition, upon completion of his studies, he will be able to join the team that operates the PERU LNG plant, the first natural gas liquefaction plant in South America.
"Currently, in the face of the high demand for specialized personnel, companies can contribute by providing the necessary training here or abroad, with the vision of ensuring that this talent returns and contributes to our industries. This year we are once again recognizing the effort and academic talent, and now with the help of the Fulbright Commission, which also supports us in this process," said Igor Salazar, General Manager of PERU LNG.
Last year, Petrochemical Engineering student Luis Enrique Tello Pretell was the first to obtain the PERU LNG Scholarship and after a year in Oklahoma, he is now part of the plant's operations team.
The PERU LNG scholarship is an educational incentive aimed at young students in the last cycles of the Mechanical, Petrochemical, Chemical and Electronic Engineering specialties. Its objective is to support them so that they can continue their professional training in internationally recognized academic institutions, in order to contribute to the further development of the country.
PERU LNG is the company that has been operating the first natural gas liquefaction plant in South America since 2010 and is located at kilometer 163 of the South Pan-American Highway.
