After a process of more than a year, PERU LNG obtained certification as an Authorized Economic Operator as an Importer from the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT). This global accreditation guarantees that the company complies with the standards of the World Customs Organization (WCO) or equivalent standards regarding the security of the international trade logistics chain.
By being an Authorized Economic Operator, PERU LNG becomes a strategic partner of SUNAT, both at the company level and also at the level of its business partners, suppliers that comply with all the security controls required by the standard. To this end, the company guaranteed compliance with 4 criteria:
- Satisfactory track record of compliance with current tax regulations.
- Adequate accounting and logistical records system to allow traceability of foreign trade operations.
- Proven financial solvency.
- Ideal level of security in the international trade logistics chain.
For PERU LNG, this certification offers advantages both in customs operations and in the optimization of customs clearance times of goods. Likewise, SUNAT will conduct annual audits to verify the compliance of the certified operator, which guarantees that the company will continuously work on its commitments and obligations to keep its security management program alive and up to date.
