In the framework of the SNMPE Sustainable Development Award, where it was recognized in three categories, the company reaffirms with results a sustainability policy built with a long-term vision.
Lima, December 11, 2025. In a scenario where sustainability has become a cross-cutting requirement for all industries, companies must have management models capable of generating environmental, social and technological value in a sustained manner. PERU LNG, operator of the first Liquefied Natural Gas processing plant in South America, has developed a sustainability policy that is reflected in long-term initiatives recently highlighted as good practices in the country.
In the 2025 edition of the SNMPE Sustainable Development Award, the company received awards in Environmental Management, Social Management and Innovation and Technology, validating an approach that integrates circularity, territorial articulation and strategic use of technology within its operation. In the environmental area, the program “Moving towards circularity” shows how a complex industrial operation can migrate towards more efficient processes, where waste recovery went from 8% in 2019 to 45% in 2025, incorporating new treatment alternatives aligned with the plan. Zero Waste to Landfill and strengthening the alliance with ANIQUEM to allocate recoverable waste to finance rehabilitation services for burn patients.
In the social area, the “Impulsando el territorio” initiative was recognized for its ability to coordinate efforts between the private sector and the State. Through alliances with AGRORURAL, INIA and Sierra Azul, productive capacities have been strengthened in communities of Ayacucho, promoting the use of certified seeds with greater commercial value, implementing infrastructure for planting and harvesting water and increasing family income, contributing to water availability and local development.
In the Innovation and Technology category, the IRADIA project, an artificial intelligence agent that integrates technical information to accelerate decision-making in the plant, stood out. This tool makes it possible to analyze operational data in real time, simplify complex metrics and improve the reliability of the operation through precise technical recommendations.
In this regard, Jaime Risco, General Manager of PERU LNG, pointed out that “.“sustainability is part of every decision we make as a company. These awards reaffirm that our commitment to the environment, communities, and innovation is part of our DNA. The challenge is to continue to raise our standards and demonstrate that every industry can move towards a more responsible, efficient and humane future.”.
The results recognized in this edition of the SNMPE Sustainable Development Award show how management models that integrate circularity, territorial articulation and technology can generate measurable and sustained impacts over time, demonstrating what is possible to achieve when sustainability is incorporated as a transversal policy within organizations.
