The PERU LNG gas pipeline is an impressive piece of infrastructure that represents a milestone in the history of engineering in Peru. The gas pipeline runs for 408 kilometers through one of the most diverse geographies in the world, including abrupt, hard-to-reach mountain areas, multiple rivers and coastal deserts. Its highest point is over 4 900 meters above sea level, which earned it a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the highest gas pipeline in the world.
The starting point is located approximately at kilometer 211 of the Transportadora del Gas del Peru S.A. (TGP) gas pipeline, in the community of Chiquintirca, Ayacucho Region, on the southern Peruvian Andes. It ends at the PERU LNG natural gas liquefaction plant of PERU LNG, located on the Peruvian coast.
The Pipeline Integrity Management System is a process that seeks to provide a safe and reliable natural gas transportation service, controlling the risks inherent to the operation to preserve the safety of our personnel, the communities and the environment.
The Sustainability Policy of PERU LNG includes the following commitments:
At PERU LNG we are focused on maintaining the integrity of the equipment and components that make up the Pipeline, to achieve a safe operation to preserve the integrity of the communities, the environment and the personnel, and which, in turn, improves the availability of transportation of the Pipeline and production of the Plant, guaranteeing an efficient operation.
These activities are carried out with the purpose of detecting anomalies in the system that could, given certain conditions, represent a threat to the integrity of the pipeline. Among the most used inspection activities in our system we have the inspection with internal tools, better known as “PIGS” which travel inside the pipeline detecting any anomalous situation that could jeopardize the operation of the pipeline.
It is a set of activities that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of the pipeline for the economic development of the country, as well as the restrictions that exist for the development of human activities in areas near the Right of Way in order to mitigate the risk of damage to the pipeline and accidents.
This category includes a group of activities for the continuous verification of the Integrity Management System and the training of personnel on issues related to the safety of the pipeline.

This is a program implemented by PERU LNG to train and raise awareness among the populations neighboring the pipeline on how to act in emergency situations, to show the restrictions for the development of economic activities and in general the recommendations for safe coexistence in areas near the pipeline.
The Damage Prevention Program of PERU LNG has the following objectives:
Pipeline leaks are uncommon, but you can identify them if you notice:
Or, if you hear:
