Implementation of the program has enabled local governments in Ayacucho to raise approximately US$13 million to finance projects in their communities.
PERU LNG was the only Peruvian and Latin American company to receive the Global Energy Awards, an award granted in New York by the renowned consulting firm S&P Global Platts in the category of "Corporate Social Responsibility: Specific Program" for the execution of the social initiative that the company has been developing in a sustainable manner since 2012 to date.
For the development of the program, PERU LNG involved the Universidad del Pacífico, together with its team of experts and the municipalities, to design and implement a tailor-made program that responds to the needs and reality of each area. The program provides specialized training and tools to municipal officials to improve the public investment management process.
The implementation of the program has enabled participating local governments to raise close to US$13 million to finance projects in their communities. PERU LNG made an investment of US$795,000. For every dollar invested, each municipality has raised close to US$17 for its benefit, which demonstrates the economic return capacity of the social initiative.
