The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic and the Minister of Energy and Mines.
On Friday, September 8, PERU LNG inaugurated the Liquefied Natural Gas Truck Loading Terminal, which will allow the transportation of the fuel to the interior regions of the country and will make it possible for homes in the north and south of Peru to have residential natural gas, in addition to thousands of drivers who will have access to natural gas for vehicles.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Cayetana Aljovín. Also in attendance were national, regional and local authorities, as well as representatives of the business sector.
"This is a huge success in a complicated story, now natural gas will reach more regions of the country, as it currently only reaches Lima and Ica", said the President of the Republic. In turn, the Minister of Energy and Mines said that "through the so-called virtual system, this fuel will be transported to 11 cities in Peru to supply and improve the quality of life of more Peruvians".
The modern terminal, which required an investment of US$ 17 million, will supply cryogenic T3S3 trucks with a capacity of 50m3 (13,000 gallons). The company Gases del Pacífico - QUAVII will distribute the fuel in Cajamarca, Lambayeque, Chiclayo, Pacasmayo, Trujillo, Chimbote and Huaraz, in the north of the country; while the company Gas Natural FENOSA will distribute it to the south, in Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo and Tacna.
The terminal has a capacity of 240,000 gallons per day of liquefied natural gas and is equipped to load trucks with a capacity of 13,000 gallons. It includes the installation of a control center, a depressurization station, pipelines to transfer gas from the plant, security mechanisms, electrical systems, control systems, communications, and closed-circuit television.
