PERU LNG consists of a 408-km pipeline, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing plant, and a marine terminal.
The liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing plant is the first and only one of its kind in South America to produce this type of gas. Managing this plant requires the highest national and international standards, including best practices in technical, safety, social, and environmental aspects.
The plant and pipeline operations are carried out by Hunt LNG Operating Company S.A.C., which operates not only in compliance with the highest national and international standards, but even surpassing them and becoming an example of best practices in technical, occupational safety, social, and environmental matters.
The Plant is located on a 521-hectare site, called "Pampa Melchorita", at kilometer 163 of the Panamericana Sur highway.
The Plant hosts our Port Terminal, which provides facilities for the berthing of methane tankers with a cargo capacity of 90,000 to 174,200 cubic meters of LNG; with a maximum displacement of 118,388 tons at full load and a draft of up to twelve meters.
In addition to the port infrastructure, the PERU LNG terminal is equipped with state-of-the-art systems that allow for safe scheduling and executing of all cargo operations.
It is also worth mentioning that the port terminal was recertified with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, granted in 2018 by TÜV Rheinlanden Certification, due to its quality management systems in LNG shipment and the provision of basic port services: mooring, unmooring, pilotage, and towing. In 2020, the National Port Authority once again granted the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) certification, together with the national certifications for Special Port Facility (SPF) and Port Security; both for another five years.
