Initiative receives Citizens a Day Award for Best Practices in Public Management
The "Mi Chacra Emprendedora" Project, implemented by PERU LNG and FONCODES in nine locations in the Ayacucho region, received the 2017 Award for Good Practices in Public Management from Ciudadanos al Día (CAD), which recognizes efficient, successful and innovative activities and projects developed with the aim of increasingly better serving citizens.
This initiative helps rural households living in extreme poverty in the company's area of influence to build sustainable livelihoods. Through its implementation, it promotes productive capacities, economic enterprises and food security for 283 families in the towns of Hatunpallcca, Totora, Anchihuay Sierra, Osqoqocha, Qollpa, Allpacorral, Pampanhuaylla, Cochas and Putacca.
"Mi Chacra Emprendedora" was implemented through the agreement signed in 2014 between PERU LNG and the Fondo de Cooperación para el Desarrollo Social-FONCODES, through which the company undertook the commitment to finance 100% of the intervention.
The project has provided support and technical assistance to Ayacucho families to improve their agricultural production, which was used for self-consumption in order to improve food and nutrition levels. It also promoted the use of nutritious recipes, the installation of improved kitchens and the improvement of housing.
