Biodiversity Monitoring and Assessment Program (BMAP)

Biodiversity Monitoring and Assessment Program (BMAP)

This program was conceived by PERU LNG in collaboration with the Center for Conservation, Education and Sustainability (CCES) of the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI), with the purpose of conserving the biodiversity during the construction of the project and the operation of the gas pipeline, plant and maritime terminal.

The BMAP determines the conditions of the species, their habitats and changes over time through biological monitoring and assessments. With this information guides are developed so that PERU LNG can make decisions that help mitigate any impact on biodiversity. The BMAP’s results can be seen in detail on the program website.
