With the sponsorship of PERU LNG and Hunt, Danna Maita Mendoza and Diego Arcos Albarán, two eleven-year-old Chincha students, traveled to Brazil on a training tour to practice ping-pong in five high-performance clubs in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

The trip was carried out within the framework of the international Scholarship promoted as part of the “Impactando Vidas” (Impacting Lives) program, which is being carried out in six schools of Chincha Alta financed by PERU LNG.

Danna and Diego are elementary-school students attending the Francisco Corbetto Rocca and San Antonio de Padua schools, respectively; both became interested in this sport when the “Impactando Vidas” program led by Monica Liyau was introduced in their respective schools.

Diana Mendoza, Danna’s mother, said that “every time Monday or Friday was approaching, my daughter was very excited preparing her rackets to train during her physical education class”; she also said that it was the first time that Danna was traveling to another country and that the training program in Brazil has allowed her to gain new experiences.

On the other hand, Ana María Albarán, Diego’s mother, was very excited by the importance that her son gives to practicing this sport: “all of a sudden he said, “mommy, I’m going to play ping-pong”, a sport that was not very common; he also won a bycicle in a ping-pong tournament”.

The trip, carried out from February 9th to February 24th, was possible thanks to the contribution of PERU LNG and Hunt, companies that bet on the development and well-being of the community of Chincha and especially of children.
