Implementation of the program has enabled local governments in Ayacucho to raise approximately $13 million to finance projects in their communities.
PERU LNG was the only Peruvian and Latin American company to receive the 2019 Global Energy Awards, an award given in New York by the renowned consulting firm S&P Global Platts in the category of “Corporate Social Responsibility: Specific Program” for the execution of the social initiative that the company has been developing in a sustainable manner since 2012 to date.
For the development of the program, PERU LNG involved the University of the Pacific with its team of experts and the municipalities to design and implement a program tailored to meet the needs and reality of each area. Through the program, specialized training and tools are provided to municipal officials to improve the public investment management process.
The implementation of the program has enabled participating local governments to raise nearly $13 million for the financing of projects in their communities. PERU LNG made an investment of $795,000. For each dollar invested, each municipality has raised about USD 17 dollars for its benefit, which demonstrates the capacity for economic return of the social initiative.

The judges of S&P Global pointed out that PERU LNG went beyond providing a temporary solution; it strengthened the sustainable development of its communities in a “future-oriented programme with long-term impact”.
